Methodology
This page explains how we produce every comparison, review, and pricing breakdown on the site — and why we are not the vendor.
How many tools we track
We maintain a single source-of-truth record for 12 payroll and HR platforms: Rippling, Gusto, ADP, Paychex, Paylocity, QuickBooks Payroll, SurePayroll, Paycor, BambooHR, Workday, Patriot, and OnPay. Each price on the site is read from that record, so an update in one place propagates everywhere the vendor appears — with its verification date attached.
How we verify prices
- We read the price from the vendor's own published source and record the URL.
- We save a screenshot and the date. Every figure shows a "Verified <date>" badge.
- Where a vendor does not publish prices (ADP, Paychex, Paylocity and others quote only on request), we say so plainly rather than guess. Those fields read "Not verified yet" until we have a number we can stand behind.
- We record list prices, not promotional discounts, and note when a headline price is an introductory rate.
Do we test the demos?
[BORRADOR — ajusta a la realidad] Where we have hands-on time with a product we say so in the review and describe what we did. Where our assessment is based on documentation, published pricing, and attributed user reports rather than a live account, we say that too. We never imply testing we did not do.
How we handle other people's opinions
When we cite recurring complaints we attribute and paraphrase them — "users on G2 report…", "a recurring thread on r/smallbusiness is…" — and link to the source. We do not republish reviews from G2, Capterra, or Reddit verbatim.
Fact vs. opinion
We separate the two in the text. A monthly minimum of a given amount is a fact we verified. Whether that is expensive for a team of eight is our opinion, and we mark it as such.
How we make money
Some outbound links are affiliate links, and the site may show ads. Neither changes a verdict or a price. See the affiliate disclosure for the full story.
